A recent request from Orchard Lea Nursing Home, Cullompton, to provide a raffle prize for their summer fete saw Walter H. Squires & Son provide a luxury hamper which helped the event raise approximately £1,000.00.

The fete was held on Saturday 20th July 2013, and was blessed with brilliant weather which helped to encourage a good attendance.

In a recently received thank you letter, a representative of Orchard Lea advised that the money will enable residents to be provided with the little extras in life, which most people take for granted, such as a trip out for a cream tea, or a drive to the beach.

Ryan Squires, Walter H. Squires & Son’s company director, said "The hampers were supplied by Peggy's Pantry, another local Cullompton company, reinforcing the importance that we as a company place on strong community links. I've been told a member of Orchard Lea's staff won the hamper and was really thrilled. I'm so pleased we've been able to help and put a smile on the face of the person who won the hamper and the people who will benefit from the funds it helped to raise."
