For the third consecutive year Melanie Squires will be running the Cancer Research UK Race for Life to raise sponsorship and awareness for this important charity.
This year Melanie will be running the race at Westpoint, Exeter on Sunday 20th July, Mel completed last years race at Seven Brethren Banks Events Area, Barnstaple on Sunday 8th July and over the last two years has raised over £900.00.
“Having run the race twice already I’m really excited to be running again, it’s a brilliant feeling crossing the finish line knowing that your efforts have helped Cancer Research UK continue the invaluable work they do.” said Melanie.
Every year participants run the race in memory of a loved one who has died from cancer, this year Mel will be running in memory of her Uncle Dick (Horace Richard King) who passed away 4th April 2007. Mel will also be running in memory of Peter and June Squires, neither Peter nor June suffered from cancer but both would be proud of Mel’s efforts to help others.
