Walter H. Squires & Son are collaborating with Kingdoms Tours of Tiverton to assist the bereaved by providing complimentary transport to an open air memorial service being held at the Exeter and Devon Crematorium. The open air service is held annually and gives the bereaved an opportunity to pay their respects to those they have lost and visit the last resting places of their loved ones. This year the service takes place on Sunday, July 20th at 3:00 p.m.
The idea of providing complimentary transport to the open air service was formulated by Ryan and Melanie Squires, Ryan and Melanie then approached Steve & Russ Kingdom of Kingdoms Tours to discuss the possibility of working together and were delighted when the two family firms were able to find a way of coming together for the benefit of others.
Commenting on the collaboration Ryan said “Every year we care for hundreds of families who’s loved ones funerals take place at Exeter and Devon Crematorium, and very often that means that the Cremated Remains are laid to rest in the crematorium’s Garden of Remembrance. After seeing the open air service date being displayed at the crematorium it occurred to me that a number of those families would not be able return to the crematorium, on important dates and anniversaries, to remember their loved ones and pay their respects as they may not have transport or they may not feel able to return to the crematorium on their own, this idea overcomes both of those obstacles.”
Melanie added “When deciding who to ask to supply the transport we had no hesitation in approaching Kingdoms Tours as we’re both long established, local, family businesses who have built our reputations by providing a caring and highly professional service.”
The coaches will leave from Walter H. Squires & Son’s Tiverton Chapel of Rest at 11 Wellbrook Street, as well as their Cullompton Chapel of Rest at 27 Higher Street. The coaches will leave both locations at 1:30 p.m. so those wishing to attend are advised to arrive no later than 1:15 p.m.
Commenting on the collaboration, Steve Kingdom of Kingdoms Tours said “We were more than pleased to help when approached by Ryan and Melanie. With both our companies serving the local people of Tiverton and the surrounding areas for a number of years we thought it was a wonderful idea and a good way of giving something back to the community.”
Seats must be booked in advance, so if you would like to attend the open air service and take advantage of the complimentary transport please contact Walter H. Squires & Son on 01884 252556 or 01884 839556 or email Melanie Squires at melanie@whsquires.co.uk.
