For the second consecutive year Melanie Squires will be running the Cancer Research UK Race for Life to raise sponsorship and awareness for this important charity.

This year Melanie will be running the race at Seven Brethren Banks Events Area, Barnstaple on Sunday 8th July, Mel completed last years race at Weston-Super-Mare on 7th May 2006 and raised £778.00.

“Cancer Research UK is such an important charity and events like this are a vital way in which Cancer Research UK is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. Also, this is a way we give help and support to our local communities in ways outside our professional capacity” said Melanie.

Many participants of the race do so in memory of a loved one who has died from cancer, this year Mel will be running in memory of her Uncle Dick (Horace Richard King) who passed away 4th April 2007.
