This years Christmas celebrations, held in appreciation for the hard work and dedication shown by all of Walter H. Squires & Son's employees, took place at St. Olaves Court, Exeter on 9th December.

The evening was attended by staff and partners, business associates, family and friends of Ryan & Melanie Squires and special guests Damon Campbell (of Golden Charter) and his wife Victoria.

The highlight of the evening was Keith Southgate being presented with the employee of the year award.

Keith has worked in the funeral profession for a number of years and has held the position of Funeral Service Operative with Walter H. Squires & Son since 2003.

"Every year we select one employee to receive this award based on dedication shown to the continual improvement of services offered" said Ryan, "and this year both Melanie and I felt that Keith’s efforts deserved recognition."

The award, first introduced in 2004, has previously be given to Paul Greenaway (2004 - Funeral Service Operative) and Simon Tucker (2005 - Funeral Director).
